The brief focused on creating a soothing environment that encourages relaxation and a sense of quiet luxury. The space needed to feel warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully arranged, allowing guests to unwind gently and enjoy a moment of escape from daily rhythm and activity.
The goal was to create an atmosphere of true tranquillity while ensuring the space remained highly functional and practical for daily use. The environment needed to support a gentle flow, with areas for showering, changing, and preparing to be clearly defined without creating visual or spatial interruption.
The layout also required a thoughtful approach to movement. Sharp angles and direct sightlines can disrupt calm, so the design needed to soften edges and create an environment that feels fluid and naturally connected. Achieving this balance while maintaining elegance and durability was a central challenge.
Austin drew inspiration from renowned wellness architecture, particularly spaces that use minimal materials and subtle lighting to evoke peace and emotional grounding. This led to the introduction of curved forms throughout the spa, shaping gentle movement and a sense of ease along the guest journey.
A round basin tower became the anchor point of the space, complemented by circular mirrors and softly contoured seating areas. Lighting was layered to soften shadows and create depth, while warm and cool natural materials were paired to evoke a grounded, timeless atmosphere. Feng Shui principles guided the placement of key elements to nurture balance and calm.
The final space feels serene, elegant, and deeply considered. Natural stone, warm timber, and refined lighting work together to create a setting that encourages slow movement and restful presence. Curved forms soften the experience, inviting guests to unwind without distraction.
